Frequently Asked Questions
1. Why are Walk-through Access Platform Ladders safer than standard step ladders?
Standard step ladders are designed for working from the ladder itself, not for stepping directly onto mezzanines, machinery or elevated platforms. Using the wrong type of ladder for platform access can lead to awkward climbing movements and increase the risk of slips or falls. Walk-through Access Platform Ladders are purpose-built to provide a safer transition at platform level, helping operators enter and exit elevated work areas with greater confidence.
2. How do Walk-through Access Platform Ladders improve workplace productivity?
When employees regularly access elevated work areas, inefficient equipment can slow everyday tasks. Walk-through Access Platform Ladders help streamline maintenance, stock picking, inspections and servicing by providing stable access, large work platforms, integrated shelves for tools and materials, and smooth mobility between work locations.
3. How do I choose the right Walk-through Access Platform Ladder?
Choosing the correct ladder depends on the height of the platform being accessed and how frequently it will be used. The Verdex range is available in models from 3 to 12 steps, allowing businesses to select a ladder that provides safe access without overreaching or relying on unsuitable equipment.
4. Why is Australian Standards compliance important when selecting an industrial ladder?
Industrial ladders manufactured to Australian Standard AS/NZS 1892.1 are designed to meet recognised safety and performance requirements. Choosing compliant access equipment helps businesses support safer work practices, meet workplace safety expectations and invest in equipment built for demanding industrial environments.
5. Which workplaces benefit most from Walk-through Access Platform Ladders?
Walk-through Access Platform Ladders are ideal for warehouses, manufacturing facilities, workshops, distribution centres and maintenance operations where employees regularly access mezzanine floors, elevated storage, plant equipment, service platforms or vehicles. They provide a safer, purpose-built solution for repetitive elevated access throughout the working day.
Walk-through Access Platform Ladders
Employees regularly need to move between ground level and mezzanines, machinery platforms, elevated storage systems and service areas. While many workplaces rely on conventional step ladders for these tasks, they are designed for working from the ladder—not for safely transitioning onto another level. This can create awkward movements, slow workflows and increase the risk of slips and falls. Verdex Walk-through Access Platform Ladders are purpose-built to solve this challenge by providing safe, stable access to elevated work areas in industrial and commercial workplaces.
Purpose-Built for Safer Elevated Access
Manufactured to Australian Standard AS/NZS 1892.1, every Walk-through Access Platform Ladder features a fully welded heavy-duty aluminium frame, a walk-through platform configuration and a generous 600mm platform width to provide a stable working position. The walk-through design allows operators to step safely onto elevated platforms rather than climbing around the top of a conventional ladder, helping reduce risk during repetitive access tasks.
Designed for Industrial Productivity
Available in 3 to 12 step configurations, the range allows businesses to select the right ladder height for their application. A manual foot-operated braking system secures the ladder during use, while 125mm swivel castors allow smooth movement throughout warehouses, workshops and manufacturing facilities. Each ladder also includes a reversible shelf, providing convenient storage for tools, parts and materials while working at height.
A Reliable Solution for Everyday Workplace Access
Whether you're picking stock from elevated storage, accessing mezzanine floors, servicing machinery or carrying out routine maintenance, Verdex Walk-through Access Platform Ladders help create a safer and more efficient workplace. Combining industrial-strength aluminium construction, Australian Standards compliance and practical operator-focused features, they provide reliable elevated access for demanding workplace environments.
