Frequently Asked Questions

1. What are Flexible Expanding Skate Conveyors used for?

Flexible Expanding Skate Conveyors provide adjustable material transfer where conveyor distance, direction or working position may change. They are particularly suited to truck and container unloading, assembly lines and other handling operations where a permanent straight conveyor run may not suit the task.

2. How do Flexible Expanding Skate Conveyors adapt to different conveyor layouts?

The conveyors expand from 1100mm to 4000mm and feature a self-tracking flexible design with a minimum bend radius of 450mm. This allows the conveyor run to be extended, retracted and curved around changing transfer paths rather than being limited to a fixed straight configuration.

3. Can multiple Flexible Expanding Skate Conveyors be connected together?

Yes. Multiple units can be joined to create one continuous conveyor system when a longer transfer run is required. This allows businesses to extend the conveyor arrangement beyond the expanded length of a single unit and configure the system around the required handling distance.

4. How do I choose the right Flexible Expanding Skate Conveyor width?

The range includes 460mm, 610mm and 760mm wide skate wheel conveyors, as well as a Heavy Duty 760mm model. The appropriate model will depend on the goods being conveyed and the requirements of the application, so product dimensions, load requirements and the base of the items being handled should be considered when selecting a conveyor.

5. What load and working height can Flexible Expanding Skate Conveyors accommodate?

The range has a maximum uniformly distributed load capacity of 100kg per metre and an adjustable height range of 690mm to 1000mm. The adjustable legs allow the conveyor height to be configured around different working positions and transfer points, while 125mm brake castors on every leg assist with positioning and securing the conveyor.

Flexible Conveyor Runs for Changing Material Handling Requirements

Material transfer does not always follow a permanent straight path or fixed distance. Flexible Expanding Skate Conveyors provide an adaptable solution for operations where conveyor length, direction and working position need to change around the task. Each conveyor expands from 1100mm to 4000mm and can be curved to accommodate changing transfer routes within the available workspace.

Multiple units can also be joined to form a continuous conveyor system when additional transfer distance is required. This allows businesses to configure conveyor coverage around the operation rather than relying on a single fixed-length arrangement.

Supporting Truck Unloading, Container Handling and Assembly Lines

The range is suited to truck and container unloading, assembly lines and material handling operations where goods need to move between changing transfer points. The expanding configuration can be deployed where required, adjusted around the handling route and retracted when the full conveyor length is no longer needed.

Adjustable working height and braked castors on every leg support quick setup and repositioning between tasks. For operations where handling routes regularly change, this provides an alternative to relying solely on permanently positioned conveyor equipment or repeated manual transfer of goods.

Selecting the Right Flexible Expanding Skate Conveyor

The Flexible Expanding Skate Conveyor range includes 460mm, 610mm and 760mm conveyor widths, giving businesses different options to match their handling requirements. A Heavy Duty 760mm model is also available within the range. When selecting a model, buyers should consider the size and base of the goods being conveyed, required conveyor width, transfer distance, working height and load requirements.

Across the range, the conveyors support a maximum uniformly distributed load of 100kg per metre and adjust between 690mm and 1000mm in height. Their bolted steel construction and skate wheel configuration provide a practical conveyor platform for commercial material handling applications requiring an adjustable setup.
